Attraverso lo spettacolo Life is Beautiful la compagnia Isola Quassùd Liquid Compagny IQLC parla di quella che comunemente viene definita “emergenza sbarchi”, una denuncia quella dell’equipe di 15 ragazzi che compongono la compagnia con un messaggio forte da comunicare: “La vita è bella e tutti abbiamo diritto di viverla, in pace”.
La cena che si è tenuta all’interno dei locali di OCRA a seguito dello spettacolo è stata completamente realizzata dai giovani cuochi non professionisti di IQ Home Restaurant, ultimo progetto di Isola Quassùd, che si propone di diffondere la storia del cibo come storia dei popoli. Un incontro tra cibo e parole che racconta e insegna qualcosa di più delle nostre origini mediterranee.

La compagnia e lo spettacolo nascono insieme il 16 ottobre 2013, a seguito della tragedia del 3 ottobre di Lampedusa, da un’idea di Emanuela Pistone e grazie alla collaborazione di Maria Sanfilippo, mediatore culturale presso l’Università degli Studi di Catania e grazie al prezioso contributo dell’eclettico artista senegalese Baye Gaye, già membro attivo dell’Associazione Isola Quassùd da diversi anni.
In pochi mesi la compagnia ha accolto profughi provenienti dai recenti sbarchi in Sicilia, rifugiati, richiedenti asilo politico e Minori Stranieri Non Accompagnati, creando una piattaforma multietnica unica nel suo genere.

On Friday 18 September, the company Isola Quassùd Liquid Compagny IQLC presents the show Life is Beautiful at OCRA Montalcino. 15 young people report the “migrant landing issue” with a strong message: “Life is beautiful, and we all have the right to live life in peace.”
Through its show Life is Beautiful, the company Isola Quassùd Liquid Compagny IQLC talks about the issue commonly known as the “migrant landing issue”, a report by the team of 15 young people who make up the company with a strong message: “Life is beautiful, and we all have the right to live life in peace.”
The dinner, which was held in OCRA’s premises after the show, was entirely prepared by the young non-professional cooks of IQ Home Restaurant, the latest project of Isola Quassùd, which aims to spread the history of food as the history of peoples. A combination between food and words that tells and teaches something more about our Mediterranean origins.

The company and the show were born together on 16 October 2013, after the tragedy in Lampedusa of 3 October, from an idea of Emanuela Pistone with the collaboration of Maria Sanfilippo, a cultural mediator at the University of Catania, and thanks to the valuable contribution of eclectic Senegalese artist Baye Gaye, a long-standing active member of the Association Isola Quassùd.
In a few months, the company gave hospitality to refugees from recent landings in Sicily, asylum seekers and unaccompanied foreign minors, and created a unique multi-ethnic platform.
