redevelopment of the
hamlet montecucco
cinigiano (gr)2019
The DOC wine produced on the hill on which Montecucco lies takes its name from the hamlet. The hamlet includes a small brick church, an agricultural building used as an oil mill, a residential building with a wine cellar below, and a complex of barns and warehouses. It dates back to between the first half of the eighteenth century and the beginning of the nineteenth century.

According to the programme, the production buildings will be moved elsewhere, while the entire hamlet will be renovated for tourist and accommodation purposes, while preserving and enhancing its most valuable elements. The existing buildings will be combined with contemporary architecture while avoiding any modernistic or blended appearance.
