I wanted the memorial to represent above all those people who want to remember, who have chosen to remember and don’t want to pretend not to see or to be accomplices. Those people, who hold and carry the heavy tombstone blown by the wind, are like reeds, thin threads growing from a single stump, the stump of peace. Because to withstand the wind and the weight of memory, people don’t need to be strong, but just and united in our love for life.
