2012The project is based on the awareness that when children enter a kindergarten for the first time, they are about to discover an external reality: sounds, colours, lights and people that are different from themselves. Their senses are continuously stimulated while they discover and experience the world. How children relate to others and establish relationships is therefore of utmost importance.

In contemporary architecture, courage, intelligence and sensitivity are applied to the solution of human problems and nowhere are these qualities more necessary than in the field of education, both in architecture and in its methods.

We thought of the kindergarten as a marsupium. A space suitable for children, a cradle, where they find the comfort they need in an environment that is new to them, which also welcomes them with sensitivity and guides them through the first phase of their growth.

For this reason, the formal structure of the building establishes a contact with nature, presenting itself as a visual telescope looking into the Tuscan landscape, anchoring itself to the hilly ground at the pedestrian entrance on the south-east side and floating over the greenery on the north side.
